Dry skin — Karachi and Lahore winters plus constant AC strip moisture fast. Cream cleansers and rich moisturisers hold hydration in. Start with moisturisers.
Oily and acne-prone skin — humidity keeps oil glands working overtime. Gel cleansers and niacinamide serums help; skipping moisturiser makes oiliness worse, not better. Start with cleansers, and read our guide to choosing a sunscreen for oily skin.
Sensitive and eczema-prone skin — fragrance-free, soap-free formulas. Patch test anything new on your jawline for two days first.
Pigmentation and dark spots — Pakistan's UV index stays high nearly year-round, which is why melasma and dark spots are so common here. Vitamin C in the morning, sunscreen every day, niacinamide at night.
A routine that actually works
You don't need ten products — you need four, used consistently.
Morning: cleanser → serum (optional) → moisturiser → sunscreen
Night: cleanser → treatment serum → moisturiser
Start with a cleanser, a moisturiser suited to your skin, and a sunscreen. Add a serum after three or four weeks once your skin has settled — adding everything at once makes it impossible to tell what's working.
Sunscreen matters most here
SPF 50 PA+++ or higher suits Pakistan's sun. Gel and dry-touch textures work better in humid coastal cities; cream formulas suit drier northern regions. Reapply every three to four hours outdoors. Skipping sunscreen makes every other product in your routine a waste of money.
